I’ve known Doug since 2000 and always learn something new from him. I consider him a mentor and friend. The Furman University Department of Theatre Arts produced “The Company of Wayward Saints” – a Commedia/modern play – in 1988. For the masks and Commedia movement and characterizations we engaged the services of Doug Berky to provide an extended workshop including mask making. He produced molds of all of the actors’ faces and custom designed masks for all of the Commedia characters. The masks were magnificent and his movement and commedia instruction sensitive and productive. The overall success of the production was enhanced significantly by the artistic and professional work Doug did for us. I offer my unqualified endorsement of Doug for custom masks and characterization and movement work to enhance any theatrical experience.
